Those familiar with Rodriguez (most likely his classics ‘I Wonder’ & ‘Sugar Man’ for starters) would know what amazing music he contributed during his brief recording career. It’s a crying shame that when he first appeared on the scene in the 1970’s that UK and US audiences didn’t warm to his ‘social issues’ style.
In Australia however, and a just handful of other countries, he achieved cult-like status as fans worshipped every lyric. Thankfully the bio-film ‘Searching For The Sugarman’ introduced his music to a whole new audience.
REVIEW : A truly refreshing album with inventive arrangements backing some astute lyrics and a great delivery. The impact of the anti-establishment psych-folk songs (which are plentiful) on this album are both biting and timeless (especially considering current events) making every song here just about a keeper.
CONDITION: Note : All records (except where Mint) have been vacuum-machine cleaned and fully played on a quality system to determine an accurate grading.
VINYL : A great piece. Heaps of shine with a some light handling marks. Tracks along sweetly with no imperfections of any note. Full lyric on the back. Worthy of a strong VG+ / EX grading and will not disappoint.
LABELS : Clean as per photos above.
SLEEVE : Laminated front is clean. A touch of ring-wear on the rear as per pic … otherwise no writing, splits or marks with the spine and corners intact. Rated Excellent.
