Sleeve
Early, R.Stace printed, first issue. Tapered spine ,clearly showing title. Excellent, single album sleeve, thickly laminated on front face. Corners quite sharp, and pointed. NO wear on edges/spine. Minimum creasing in laminate. Excellent condition ,with not much feathering at all on opening edge and NO lifting of the laminate which is rare to find from this vintage classic. Not much ring wear and NO writing/graffiti!! Superb!
Labels
Deep crimson red, wide ridged open Decca format. Very good +/ex- appearance, with early Ffrr, ear logos. There are plenty of spindle lines. The earliest, first pressed labels, with inverted matrices. No hand writing. No rips. No tears. No mottling ,nor peeling. Very faint spindle wear visible.
Vinyl
So many of these were used and abused, and heavily played , resulting in massive groove wear and surface damage. This record looks quite stunning, with a pronounced, mirror like sheen ,and just a few light surface marks/one scratch visible. This one scratch is clearly visible and feelable, located on S2 last track, but most marks disappear beneath the vinyl’s highly polished sheen. .A beauty to behold visually ,owing to the vinyl’s glaze. Excellent visual.
Audio
Side one
What a record! Superb tracks including Mothers Little Helper, Under My Thumb, and the delightful change of tempo ,experienced by Lady Jane. This is when The Stones started to experiment with other musical orientations.
Side one
Beautiful tones, with minimum surface noise occasional, between tracks and during some parts of the music, and tones to tend to rise above any surface disturbance. At least a very good/+, and considerably better in some parts . Any surface noise remains at a distance.
Side two
The deeper scratch, located on final track ,and next to dead wax, looks far worse than it sounds. 1cm in length but sounds only at the very final fade out, producing a couple of clicks as music ends. Not very intrusive at all. No other problems to mention and any other light scratches, hardly interfere with playback .
Complete with original polylined sleeve- vintage original with ageing discoloration. Creasing, some tears.Good condition.
A superb example of a vintage masterpiece/Stones classic! Winning bidder will be delighted.
