Original 1968 U.S. stereo gatefold pressing of The Rolling Stones' "Beggars Banquet" on London (PS 539) — widely regarded as one of the band's finest albums, opening with "Sympathy for the Devil" and closing with "Salt of the Earth." This is the famous cream engraved-invitation cover, released after London Records refused to print the band's originally intended graffiti-covered bathroom-wall artwork; the gatefold interior features the striking black-and-white banquet-scene photograph.
Confirmed first pressing: the runout on both sides is etched XZAL-8476-A (side 1) and XZAL-8477-B (side 2), matching the original 1968 U.S. release matrix — the same masters documented across the Pitman, Bestway, and Monarch pressing plants that ran this title at launch, not a later remastered or reissue matrix. Blue "ffrr"/Stereophonic London label.
Condition: Outer cover and vinyl are in solid shape. The gatefold interior artwork has some visible surface scuffing — vinyl and outer cover otherwise excellent, but please look closely at the gatefold photos before bidding, since that's where any wear is concentrated.
