1st pressing!!! In fact the ONLY MONO pressing until the recent box set, but this is the real deal

I've test played this with a stereo cartridge and a Mono Ortofon M2, any flaws or imperfections are seriously reduced if you have the mono option because it only reads the lateral sides of the groove and doesn't try to split the signal. Plus it just sounds much much better. And, as they say on the Ortofon webpages: 'Another significant advantage of using a mono cartridge to play mono records is the absence of response to vertical movement. This means that a mono cartridge is essentially impervious to the pinching effect which comes into action when the stylus is pushed vertically upward in very narrow grooves. In addition, the response to dust, dirt and wear will be reduced substantially as the vertical component will not be heard. The final result will be a much more clean and noiseless reproduction of the mono record. These effects simply cannot be achieved merely by the use of a mono switch.'
All of this is true.
You can see from the label images that this copy has seen some history with traces of spindle wear around the hole, but it was cut loud and true so that what imperfectations there are mostly only really noticable with headphones. Nevertheless, I recognise that you might not have the mono option so the surface noise heard on 'No Expecations' is slightly more intrusive in stereo and a littl emore noticable at the start of 'Parachute Woman'. The only other audio imperfection is heard on 'Sympathy for the Devil' on the first three rotations, a brief moment of distortion at one point during those three turns and then the band kick in. Side Two is without issue with either stereo or mono playback
Sleeve is VG+. Gatefold interior is unmarked and looks nice and clean. Laminate on the front of sleeve has remained in place, no shrinkage or lift, but does show some minor aging and shelf wear. Spine is fully legible. Front opening is soft along one edge. Comes with what I think is the orignal inner, in the right hand corner is the code 'R S. 11 - 68' which gives month and year of issue (I believe). It is discoloured by age
