THE ROLLING STONES - 'BEGGAR'S BANQUET'

This UNPLAYED UK 1st stereo pressing dates from the initial December 1968 release.

It is on the unboxed blue & silver Decca label: SKL 4955.

Matrix numbers: XZAL-8476-1K & XZAL-8477-1K (with an 'X' stamped beneath)

Stamper codes: GB/KI & 1/BK

The 'JT' purchase tax code is visible in both run-outs.

Disc weight: 148g

The disc is housed within a superb 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo gatefold cover with an 8mm wide spine.

Complete with its original & correct poly-lined inner-sleeve.

A perfect pair with no spindle marks or wear to either centre hole.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Factory-fresh deep-gloss playing surfaces which are pristine and totally unmarked both in strong daylight. Even close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp fails to reveal anything but a few barely visible ultra-fine wispy paper hairlines but no scuffs, scratches or any other visual blemishes whatsoever. Both sides of this amazing example lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Sound Quality: MINT

This beautiful copy displays absolutely no evidence of ever having been played. I carefully played the album through once in its entirely and am happy to confirm the magnificent clean & clear stereo sound to be flawless in every way. You will not find a better sounding original disc.

Cover: EXCELLENT

The front panel is perfectly clean & unworn with an unscratched high-gloss laminate which bears just a single faint 'thumbnail' and three tiny spine wrinkles but no other creasing or wear.

All corners are in perfect shape - free form any bumps or bruising and all opening edges are completely unworn. Only the rear pocket is open.

The inside of the gatefold is immaculate and completely unworn.

The spine has some areas of missing laminate, but all of the wording is clear and unworn and all seams are smooth and unstressed.

Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT

Apart from the retailer's stamp on the rear and a few tiny foxing spots, this is as good as you could expect to find.
