Open, red Decca, label format ,confirming a first UK pressing of this awesome release. A few spindle lines visible only. Excellent condition . Vinyl sits tight around central hole .Silver text unfaded and illustrate beautiful examples of this very scarce pressing. No mottling. No peeling. No graffiti . No rips, nor tears. No spindle wear ! Excellent examples.
Gatefold sleeve
Mono, opening sleeve, printed Garrod & Lofthouse, first issue . NO laminate lifting but there is general,multiple laminate creasing on both sides of the cover..No rips, nor tears .Spine has multiple laminate splits, which are rough to the fingertips. Inner centrefold shows visible light creasing also.No major damage, nor colour loss however and a GOOD example of a genuine masterpiece ,(strict grading applies as per RRPG catalogue).
Vinyl
Thick heavy weight first pressing . Beautiful, mirror like sheen to the surfaces . Ex- visual with just a couple of scratches/odd surface mark visible only. How rare is this!!
Audio
Mostly excellent ,apart from a couple of light scratches. Please see below for more details:
Awesome tones . There is no distortion whatsoever which is very rare to find on these early mono, first pressings !A superb aural delivery with little to fault . The monotone perspective is phenomenal on this recording, conveying the tones with a razor sharp edge and a concise definition. Remarkable audio channels conveying a significant depth of sound .
Just a few blips on sound to mention:
S1 Tr1 Two faint ticks
Tr3 One feelable scratch ,which produces faint ticks heard through the music. Not always clearly audible, but remains at a distance in the background through this track only.
Original, poly lined, inner sleeve in excellent condition .Catalogue number hand written in top right corner.
Overall, a very good+ example of this monumental Stones classic. Winner of this auction will be delighted !
