Up for bid is this mega rare ORIGINAL STEREO 1967 UK 1ST PRESSING of the Rolling Stone's LP called "Between The Buttons" on the Decca record label cat# SKL 4852 and is 100% complete with the 1st press cover and poly lined inner sleeve. What makes this LP so rare is that it is pressed in mega rare stereo. Back in 1967 in the UK mono was still what most people listen to, because stereo was still new and most people could not afford the new stereo equipment. Most record dealers would carry mono pressings and stereo pressings would have to be special ordered. Also what is especially rare with this LP is that it in in shrinkwrap. UK LPs did not come in shrinkwrap so this was either put on by a record store or record distributor. The shrinkwrap has done its job very well because this cover is in outstanding condition and is almost never seen in this condition.
The cover is the smaller 1st press cover with the pinched spine and not the later cover which was larger with no pinched spine and is a lot of times substituted for this cover by record dealers trying to bump up the price of the LP. The cover is in mint- condition with 4 sharp corners, no splits and a perfect spine and the back of the cover is pure white. The only flaws are there are a couple of small creases at the spine and a few small dings at the mouth. There looks to be stain on the cover at the top right in the pictures but it is just the shrinkwrap.
The 1st press unboxed stereo labels are in mint- condition WITH NO SPINDLE MARKS AT ALL, which would suggest that this LP is un played with the exception of my test play.
The stunning 1st press vinyl looks as though it was just pressed today and is in mint- condition with just few very light hairlines which can only be seen when held to very bright light. The play back is excellent+ with just some light noise between tracks..
The ORIGINAL POLY LINED INNER SLEEVE is in excellent condition with no splits and just some yellowing from age.
This has to be one of the nicest copies of this LP available today and would be hard to find better so don't pass this one up. please take a look at my other LPs that I have for sale.
