The Rolling Stones:  Big Hits (High Tide & Green Grass)    MONO    


Original 1966 US pressing on London (NP-1), with bright red labels on which the London logo appears "boxed".  The custom gatefold jacket includes the original six page booklet of color photos and credits, in near mint condition.


Includes the original London company inner sleeve ... in excellent condition.


This is the prized and sonically superior MONO pressing, not the dreadful sounding "rechanneled stereo" version.

Side One matrix #'s:  ARL 7167-(X1) ... hand etched in dead wax.

Side Two matrix #'s:  ARL-7168 (X111) ... hand etched in dead wax.



Vinyl:  EX

Excellent sound quality.  A few light superficial surface marks are present but do not significantly detract from the listening experience.  Faint surface noise ("crackle") audible between some tracks and during a very few quiet passages.  A single noticeable "pop" is heard between tracks 2 and 3 on Side 2.  Exceptionally high gloss on this record, now some 50 years old !!!  A really wonderful listen !!!

Labels are bright and clean.  Some light spindle marks seen under bright light.

Front and back color photos are rich and bright.  Only very modest rub wear is apparent.

Top and bottom seams show modest rub wear ... but no splits.

Spine shows modest rub wear.  Spine print is clearly legible.

This is an excellent copy of the classic Rolling Stones compilation LP "Big Hits (High Tide And Green Grass)", in glorious MONO, as recorded and meant to be heard.  A wonderful piece of rock history and a great listen, now some 50 years old !!!  Hoping this one goes to a good home. 

Note:  I have nearly all the early Stones LP's in mono.  I plan to list more in weeks to come.
