Description

Near Mint Original 1997 Benelux Release on Virign Records ?– 7243 8 44712 1 7 mastered by Stephen Marcussen @ Precision Mastering. Opened to inspect contents, clean and play/record once...other than that, it is as new.
Winner will receive the vinyl album PLUS the ability to download a vinyl rip of this album made by me. I've been ripping vinyl albums for years, and have the process down to a science. All rips are made on my hi-end system consisting of:

  • Turntable: JA Michell Gyro SE (Spider Edition) MK2 with complete ORBE upgrade package (platter, clamp) and JA Michell H.R. DC Power Supply
  • Tonearm: SME M9
  • Cartridge: Audio-Technica AT33PTG/II (Moving Coil)
  • Phone Stage: Manley Chinook (NOS Tungsram 6922 tubes)
  • Digital Interface: Tascam US144 MKII
  • Recording Software: GoldWave
  • Editing Software: ClickRepair, Audacity, Izotope RX2 Advanced

Prior to ripping, every record is cleaned with a four-step process that includes:

  1. Ultrasonic Cleaner (tap water with home-brew cleaner) for 20 minutes (pat dry with clean, lint-free towel)
  2. Place on VPI 16.5 and apply Audio Intelligent "Down With Dirty Enzyme Record Cleaner" with VPI brush (vacuum off cleaning solution - flip record and repeat)
  3. Place record in Spin Clean filled with distilled water to remove any remaining cleaning solution (pat dry with clean, lint-free towel)
  4. Place record back on VPI 16.5 and apply L’Art du Son Cleaning Fluid with Osage Audio brush (vacuum off cleaning solution - flip record and repeat)

For those interested in a "visual" of the sonics from this album/rip, here's a dynamic range report from foobar:

Stray clicks and other normal vinyl anomalies have been manually removed from the rip resulting in a digital copy that is almost perfect in sonics and FAR superior to any other CD or download available. You'll have a beautiful digital copy you can keep and listen to on your PC or other portable device - saving wear and tear from your prized LP!
Downloading instructions will be sent to the winning bidder via email on how to retrieve both a 24/96 hi-res FLAC file and/or 16/44 redbook quality ALAC file of this rip.
Proper packing for safe arrival! This means record(s) will be placed in a protective Diskeeper Antistatic Record Sleeve OUTSIDE the cover (which will be in a protective outer cover sleeve itself). Albums will be shipped in a record mailer with appropriate packing material to prevent damage during transit. I generally pack all items on the weekend for shipment on Monday via Media Mail from the USPS. Any items won Tuesday-Friday will be shipped out the following Monday.
Thanks, and good luck!
