Exile on Main Street

COC 69100  Released 1972 in STEREO

Played only a handful of times !!! Impossible to locate like this .The fragile, unlaminated gatefold sleeve with intricate internal flap, where vinyls are stored, is in unbelievable Nr MINT condition. The best ever viewed and possibly the best in existence today. NO yellowing ! NO edge wear at all! NO spinal wear! NO tears nor rips!!!!Fresh factory feel and in stunning condition. Final upgrade!!!

Above information confirms THE one of the earliest pressings of a HUGE Stones album in remarkable  condition!!

Rolling Stones Records etched in run offs- double matrix ST-RS-722-507/508/509/510 Inverted triangle found on run off of the vinyl, only found on earliest pressings

TWELVE mint POSTCARDS still attached and in awesome condition. Very rare to find ALL cards virtually untouched and look crisp and clean. Concertina format . Brushed matt finish confirming 1st issue set. Some are found with a glossy finish and are not quite so appealing.

Two record set and vinyls appear virtually blemish free and freshly pressed ,under ordinary light conditions. In beautiful format, with a mirror like sheen and a thick, chunky feel. On closer inspection, there are approx 3-4 ultra light surface marks in total from all four sides, which disappear beneath a staggering, mirror like sheen ,very similar to mint vinyl. Beautifully maintained and a pleasure to view. EX+ visual.

Audio conveys at least an excellent delivery, executing the clearest of tones ,with NO distortion or any serious surface disturbances. Excellent aural delivery with soft, mellow tones and ultimately a warm punch of exquisite precision, so rare to find on a huge classic such as this! Opening grooves do have some static and between tracks, owing to dust particles still lifting from the grooves. Very common on these vintage releases which you must be aware of .These vinyls have lain dormant for many years and should improve with play .It is the quality of the tones that make this a sensational discovery. The extra loud cut engineering gives the audio a vibrant sound which cannot be surpassed.A delivery which will not disappoint!

Labels Nr MINT

Superb strong yellow with pronounced ridged, dimple effect contours coupled against scarlet tongue logos. Superb examples of the genuine Stones label format with only a couple (if any) of spindle lines visible. Have to angle under a strong halogen to observe and infers that these records have been very lightly played. Unable to believe that they have been played more than 3-4 times.IMPOSSIBLE to locate like this !

Comes complete with original thick, card manufacture , picture inner sleeves. All corners nice and sharp and have had a minimum of handling. Nr MINT condition. Will not grade mint as I have handled them!

Original plain white ,die cut inner sleeves with flip backs, patented/made in England blue text in nr mint  condition. No seam splits and age discoloration only visible on one of them. The central holes are perfect!

Original outer gatefold-STORED AWAY FROM SUNLIGHT FOR MANY YEARS!!! Very fragile with a matt finish and very prone to tears and massive edge wear. This one is in NEAR MINT condition ,with corners sharp and pointed  with NO edge wear, and a solid and square spine, uncrushed and in near MINT format. NO fraying of any kind and truly remarkable. 38 years old and still retains a fresh factory pressed appearance. Will not find another like this.

Faults: the slightest buffeting on one lower corner edge of spine. Also, one lateral edge of internal flap is just starting to lift so can be glued if desired, but it would take a brave man to tamper with this beauty. Outer faces are nr mint and centrefold is also nr mint. The most important feature of this sleeve is that it has been stored away from direct sunlight for decades. Normally the spine and outer faces are found visibly yellowed with age. This sleeve is pure white apart from the slightest  ageing, just beginning to taint the surfaces toward the spinal edge, but very faint and hyper critically assessed.

What more can I say, except this Stones album is sensational and is almost impossible to find in this condition. Complete with beautiful inners, a full set of original 1st issue postcards ,still in concertina format, an impossible 1st issue gatefold sleeve, in stunning condition, and with the two vinyls, looking freshly pressed, a superb investment on offer here and certainly not to be missed.
