Description

An original 1st press of GHS on the UK Rolling Stone label. Matrix A1/B3. Note the labels do not exhibit any text in the upper half - this is indicative of 1st press. Worth on insisting on these early copies - they are pressed on decent weight vinyl. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. There's also the original inner sleeve, the promo sheet, and the chocolate brown credit sheet. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. We'll also ship the LP in a blue and white Decca poly-lined inner sleeve from '73.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg) In great shape and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. By and large a great player which does this release full justice. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Don't expect it to play clean all the way through. Deviation from the given grading is noticeable in 'Coming Down'. This track is particularly hard to find playing clean. On this copy expect a bit of background here and there. Not bad, but it will not play clean like the rest of the LP. There's also some distortion creeping in to the audio in the 2nd half of STAR - and this is noticeable. Overall a very appealing rendition of this Stones classic.
Cover (Vg+) In very good shape and has not been mistreated. Very nice clean front with only a bit of wear along that bottom edge. The rear looks fine with just a bit of wear, as is common, in a couple of spots. The interior is immaculate - no issues. There's edge wear in places, but the openings are still sharp. The spine is above average with the text still legible apart from one 'E'. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Promo poster (Ex) Very nice.
Credit Sheet (Ex+) Perfect shape.
Original Inner (Vg+) Aged but no splits.
