Gradings: I grade my records and sleeves using the Record Collectors Grading System but please mouse over the images in the uploaded photos to help establish your own idea of the item condition.
Vinyl: (Aural): Excellent: Record play-tested with superb audio quality with only occasional mild background noise during quieter sections.
Vinyl: (Visual): Excellent: The vinyl retains a lovely glossy sheen for a forty four year old record and although there are a few of the usual hairlines/paper scuffs, these are only very minor. There is one small mark on ‘Star Star’ but this doesn’t impact the audio in any way.
Labels: Excellent: Both labels are very clean, with some feint spindle marks. (Since taking the photos I have cleaned the grubby mark off label 1).
Sleeve: Good: The gatefold sleeve looks as though it has been stored in a plastic sleeve which probably sweated and stuck the sleeve to the plastic as there are some white marks where the coloured print is missing from both the front and back covers (please see photos). There is also some ring wear to the rear cover and one or two minor creases. However, the damage is purely cosmetic and the sleeve is still completely intact, with a very strong spine and the corners show only normal wear and tear. The inside of the gatefold is very clean and in much better condition than the exterior.
Insert: Excellent: The original colour poster of the goat’s head in the soup is completely intact and in very good condition with only very minor creasing around the edges.
Inner sleeve: Very Good: The plain white inner has some age discolouration and corner creasing but is still completely intact.
Records will be dispatched, well packed in custom mailers, within three working days of receiving payment.
Due to being stung by non-delivery claims in the past I now ship all LPs via Royal Mail 2nd class signed for as standard, although I will ship up to four LPs for the same cost as one. If purchasing more than one record, please contact me for a revised invoice before making payment.
Collection in person always welcome for local bidders, in which case payment will be by cash on collection.
Customer satisfaction is important to me so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if there is a problem with your order. I will try to resolve it for you as soon as possible.
RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc...
Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
