Description
The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
(Decca SKL 5025 UK LP 1969)
This is an early UK Stereo LP pressing, circa 1970. It has a front laminated sleeve which has a small circular "Mono/ Stereo" cut-out on the rear sleeve. The sleeve has a factory "pinched" top & bottom spine. It comes with its original "blue border" custom Decca inner sleeve. One side has a generic Decca inner sleeve. The other side has custom "Let It Bleed" tracklisting & information details printed on it. The inner sleeve is printed on paper. This is the 2nd UK inner sleeve variation which has the "London Bach Choir" credit edited out in a printed black strip. This copy comes complete with its original fold-out Poster. The poster is printed on semi-buff paper.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has "boxed" Decca labels. The record has XZAL-9363 P-6W and XZAL-9364 P-4W matrix numbers. A very early, circa 1970, UK Stereo pressing complete with original inner sleeve, and original Poster too. This is the nest best thing to UK "unboxed" Decca pressings. These are hard to find complete with the poster nowadays.
Sleeve: There is a very tiny tear at the rear sleeve opening. This hardly really notices. There is light, mild or very mild fading to the "white" of the sleeve. There is some light or very mild staining on the rear sleeve in three small areas. There is a very small crease at two sleeve opening corner tips. There are a few light, but quite long, indentation hairline marks on the rear sleeve, possibly from the "Sticky Fingers" front sleeve? It has not torn or ripped the sleeve. They only really notice when you angle the sleeve, in a certain way, under a strong light. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear. Overall, Very Good condition
Vinyl: There are some mild, very mild or more moderate sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. There are about 12 light hairline surface marks. These measure from 1 cm to 7 cm in length. Several of these surface hairline marks are quite minor and hardly notice under a strong light. Overall, Good+ condition. The labels are in Very Good++ condition & show mild spindle wear.
The custom tracklisting/ information inner sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & creasing. There are no seam splits.
The Poster is in Very Good condition. There is some mild to more moderate creasing on the left hand side of the poster (see photo). There is a very tiny tear at the centre of the top edge of the poster. There is a very small bit of tape staining over the tear too. Someone, in the past, has tried to repair the tear with a bit of tape. The tape is long gong but, as stated, there is a small strip of very mild tape staining.This is on the front of the poster (see photo). It is not too obtrusive. It appears that the poster has never been put on a wall. There are no pin holes or blutack marks on the rear.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. There are 2 or 3 light or very mild clicks at the start of Side 2. There is a small area of more moderate crackle at the start of the 2nd track on Side 2. It doesn't last too long. Overall, a very serviceable audio copy.
I shall place the vinyl into a separate plain paper inner sleeve. This will protect the original inner sleeve from any damage during transit.
