Description

You are bidding on the Mono first pressing of Rolling Stones No. 2 on Decca Records. I could not find a comparable version of this record with the below features on eBay. Please see all photos for details.

This appears to be a very rare variation of this album. Here are the details I know for certain: It is Decca Records catalogue number LK-4661. The label and sleeve are the original "non-boxed" Decca design but they also have red stickers covering them. I read this was common of early copies that were imported to the U.S. as London was their record label in the U.S. This I believe is the "non-flipback" cover, although the right-rear side of the cover seems to have some of the flipback characteristics. This is the very early "James Upton, Ltd." pressing. It also contains the "Blind Man" text that was later removed. The record itself has the "Grooved" label and is the earliest pressing because there is "No Production/Recording Info" under The Rolling Stones name on either the A or B side. Both sides of the record also say "Made In England" on them, with no further information afterwards like later pressings contained. The inner sleeve has some stains but has the early pressing "Handling/Playing" care notes. Hopefully this answers most of your questions about which edition this is.

Please visit http://stonesondecca.com/4A02_LK4661_No2.html to see more information about the variations of this record. This may identify more of the features this record contains as well.

Sleeve is in G condition with a seam split at the top and some delamination of the Clarifoil coating. Vinyl is G+, has crackle on first song of each side but plays loud throughout. I am not a professional grader but feel this is an appropriate condition assessment. Add this rare record to your collection today!
