Rolling Stones ORIG OZ LP Between the buttons NM Unboxed Decca SKLA4852 Psyche
Rolling Stones
Between the buttonsOriginal OZ LP released in the late 60’s on the Unboxed Red & Silver Decca Records Label. Cat: SKLA4852. Cover does not have back flaps but has gloss cover and “Stereo” sticker which would indicate a late 60’s second pressing.
The album everyone unjustly forgets, coming as it does chronologically betwixt the more highly respected 'Aftermath' and the infamous 'Satanic Majesties'. True, there are not many songs here that have been represented highly in the Stones' live set since the time, but that's a great shame, as 'Yesterday's Papers' 'She Smiled Sweetly' 'Complicated' 'Connection' 'Miss Amanda Jones' 'My Obsession' and the ragtime-inspired 'Something Happened To Me Yesterday' (detailing Jagger and Richards' first LSD experiences) are all just as worthy as any of their recordings from the time of attention. Definitely an album worth reappraising.
Tracks: Yesterday's papers/ My obsession/ back street girl/ Connection/ She smiled sweetly/ Cool, calm & collected/ All sold out/ Please go home/ Who's been sleeping here?/ Complicated/ Miss Amanda Jones/ Something happened to me yesterday,
