Description

Up for sale is this rare colored vinyl UNOFFICIAL record featuring the Rolling Stones’ alternate version of Brown Sugar on Side 2, and on Side 1, the song Cocksucker Blues.

Record and sleeves in great condition. From my personal Stones vinyl collection. Purchased on discogs back when you could buy unofficial releases there. This is one hell of a collector’s item. Explicit lyrics, to say the least. Ha.

The note was included when I bought the record like 10 years ago, by the way. Yes, I know Capitol Records is misspelled and that this wasn’t really put out by Atlantic. The point is, it’s a studio recording of a VERY explicit song that was submitted to the record company as a middle finger to the establishment, whom the Stones thought were treating them unfairly at the time. Hard to imagine Micj stepping that far out of line on later yeats. Pretty cool and it’s a hilarious song, to boot.

The story behind why the Stones recorded this is fascinating. It’s a classic and sordid Stones tale. Basically, the Stoned were in a dispute with their record label and they submitted Cocksucker Blues in order to fulfill their contract for the ‘one more record’ the label was demanding. Seeing as how the song features Mick singing about screwing and sucking off every boy on the street, the Syones knew the label would never release it, which they didn’t. But the Stines had technically fulfilled their end of the bargain.
