Description
Rare 1978 Album
from
The Rolling Stones
‘Some Girls’
With The Original
First Version Of The
Scandalous Album Cover
In Good Vinyl Condition
Good vinyl condition of a rare original copy of the 1978 classic album
‘Some Girls’ from the worlds greatest Rock And Roll band The Rolling Stones.
This LP is considered a comeback record for the band who’s mid seventies
popularity had begun to wane, it was a major critical success, becoming the
only Rolling Stones album to be nominated for a Grammy in the Album of the Year
category and had reached number one on the Billboard 100 album charts.
This album is on the Rolling Stones Records label with the catalog number COC 39108.
It is also one of the first editions with the notorious album jacket design that used
an elaborate die-cut design that garishly displayed the Rolling Stones’ faces alongside
those of select female celebrities peeking through the die-cuts. The design had to be
discontinued and was pulled from production when it was challenged legally by Lucille Ball,
Farrah Fawcett, Liza Minnelli (representing her mother Judy Garland), Raquel Welch, and
the estate of Marilyn Monroe who threatened to sue for the use of their likenesses without
permission. The future design just had flat colors in place of the removed faces.
The has ten amazing tracks and every one a winner;
Side One
1. “Miss You”
2. “When the Whip Comes Down”
3. “Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)”
4. “Some Girls”
5. “Lies”
Side Two
6. “Far Away Eyes”
7. “Respectable”
8. “Before They Make Me Run”
9. “Beast of Burden”
10. “Shattered”
Truly a great rare find of a real Rock And Roll keepsake.
Please note that the photos showing with this item are of the actual album cover
being sold, so you can see that the quality is very good.
Experience the production the way it was meant to be heard in all the
warm tones of its analog quality stereophonic vinyl sound and not the
inferior audio of MP3s.
