Label and spine show two identifying numbers: LPCENT 38   /   7243 8 44866 1 7 (second number is also the UPC bar code number) 

 

This great sounding audiophile reissue is hardly ever offered and very hard to find.  

 

This is NOT the much more common 1994 180g LP with a big round yellow sticker (on sealed copies), pressed at RTI in large numbers, which gets terrible reviews for sound quality.  For examples of the 1994 RTI pressing, search eBay for “Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers 180g” and click on “completed listings” for examples.

  

The album offered in this listing is the much rarer UK Limited Edition EMI 100 Years Centenary Series version.  Mastered by Bob Ludwig, the sound quality of this pressing is very well regarded on the various music forums, many considering this issue as good as or better than the best UK, Canadian and U.S. originals.

 

Unlikely to see another sealed copy of this one.

Condition of Cover:

(Near Mint) no edge wear, straight corners, no seam-splits, no ring-wear, superb condition.  The shrink-wrap is on tight, you can’t really tell the zipper in the close-up photo is under the shrink-wrap, but it is.  Please note that the plastic shrink-wrap along the SPINE has split (not the spine itself, but the plastic shrink-wrap has split) and ALMOST come apart, but the shrink-wrap is still intact near the bottom, by the Virgin logo (see multiple close-up photos).  The shrink-wrap is tight everywhere else.  Definitely a collector quality example, still sealed (barely), but the important point is that the LP has never been out of the jacket or played, it is still as new.  “Made in Great Britain” sticker on the back.  The bar code at the top right hand corner of the back cover is partially covered by a store sticker on the outside of the shrink-wrap, you can see what it looks like under the sticker in the photos of my open copy towards the bottom of this listing.

 

Nearly everyone ranks “Sticky Fingers” in the top 3 Rolling Stones albums of all time, and no fan or collector should be without this great version.  “Sticky Fingers” in outstanding sound quality, very limited edition UK pressing.  Not to be missed!

Double-Box Packaging:

The sealed Album will be placed inside an additional new clear poly outer protective album cover, sandwiched between two album-sized cardboard stiffeners which are then carefully taped, lightly squeezing the album between the cardboard stiffener edges, enough to prevent the album from sliding up and down or side to side, to prevent seam splits to the sealed album during transit.  The album is packaged in a record LP mailer box with cardboard stiffeners and sealed.  The record mailer box is then placed inside a larger heavy cardboard (200Lb. Test) shipping box, surrounded by foam peanuts.  Your record album will be packaged safely and insured. (see photos below)

These are the packaging materials and sequence:

1) First a layer of foam peanuts in the large outer shipping box, the brand new box is 200Lb test heavy cardboard.




2) Next the album, sealed inside a standard Record Mailer box, with cardboard stiffeners (the way most sellers ship albums) is placed on the layer of foam peanuts.




3) Every side of the Record Mailer box has approximately 1” of foam peanuts for padding protection. 




4) Final layer of foam peanuts, filled to the top.




5) Large outer box sealed.
