Sticky Fingers

On offer is a sensational example of the Spanish 10 track vinyl LP , housed in a superb alternate “tinned treacle fingers” unlaminated picture sleeve. Complete with Spanish full coloured insert.Thickly pressed and a pleasure to view and to hold. A piece of Stones history not to be missed…IMPOSSIBLE to locate… ! Must be aware of counterfeits of this release.Green /red/yellow reissues are tacky and are not originals. This example is the genuine original 1980 Spanish classic! Not to be missed. Impossible to locate now.

Details of track listing

Side 1 As UK

Side 2 omits Sister Morphine and includes a petulant 30 second silence as well as the kick-ass Let it Rock rock n roll single.

Sleeve is excellent with a solid and square spine, and vinyl is superb. Complete with Spanish insert with full Spanish titles. Vocals are in English of course.

This is the reissue of the original May 14, 1971, Spanish version and is very, very hard to locate in this remarkable condition. A must have for any Rolling Stones fan and vinyl enthusiast !

Story goes that General Franco being a strong Catholic, banned the overt drug referenced Sister Morphine. The naughty zipper on the album sleeve also got banned, and disembodied female fingers emerged, from a messy opened can of treacle, to attract buyers!!! This image has become iconic and is, to this day, a fine modern, popular litho print, recognised throughout the international graphics window.

Tracks were also changed on this album making this LP one of the most collectable of the Stones entourage .Franco proved his rock n roll credentials by substituting Sister Morphine with the Chuck Berry composition Let it Rock recording of Mar 13 , 1971 at Leeds University.

1980 reissue of original 1971 Spanish release

Insert

EX in full colour

Album sleeve

Excellent, and a sensational example of this infamous alternative album cover

Vinyl

Thick pressing with a distinctive sheen. Some minor surface marking/very faint scratches, visible if angled against a strong light. Pleasure to view .

Labels

Excellent. Just a light crusting toward one side otherwise , superb examples of this very elusive pressing

Audio Ex-

Plays really well, with no significant faults to mention. Tones are delivered in sensational style. Just a touch off excellent, due to some dust which has accumulated in these deeper grooves , giving a light distant static very occasionally. Should improve with play. Couple of ticks on Wild Horses but on inspection, the vinyl does not appear to be damaged at that point. Couple of minor pops/surface between tracks but does little to affect music presentation.

A remarkable example of an “impossible to find” release . Please do not miss this opportunity to add this rarity, to your vinyl collection. Try and find another especially in this condition! True investment quality.
