The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
(Rolling Stones Records COC 59100 UK LP 1971)
This is the ultra rare UK first LP pressing. It has a gatefold sleeve. This LP is a bit of an anomaly. No-one seems to be really sure how many were pressed, or why this gatefold copy was even pressed. It is believed to be pressed in the UK for either export purposes, promotional purposes or an abandoned first sleeve design. I'll let you decide. All I know is that it is ultra rare!
This is not a normal UK copy that has come unglued. There are no seams or glue marks on the rear of the front panel or on the "underpants" side on the inside.
The gatefold sleeve has a thin card front panel which has a zip on the front. The record is pressed on thick vinyl and has A3/ B3 matrix stampers. It comes with its original plain paper inner sleeve - which is in very nice condition. It comes with its original picture insert. Interestingly the insert is pressed in west Germany but has english text. The gatefold sleeve and LP are both pressed in the UK. This LP is extremely rare - so don't miss out!
Gatefold Sleeve: There is a 6" crease to the front panel, near the zip area. Otherwise mild wear only. VG+ condition.
Vinyl: Mild to moderate sleeve rubs that can be seen under a strong light, and occasional light hairline marks. Good++ condition. The labels are clean but show mild to moderate spindle wear. Plays well overall. There is light, or mild, crackle in the quieter places. There are no skips or jumps. The insert is in excellent condition.
Grading adheres to “Record Collector” specifications. I shall use good quality packaging (proper vinyl mailers & two card dividers).
Insurance is necessary if this item exceeds £40. Overseas buyers will add £5.25 extra (plus an additional £2.50 if the item value exceeds £70).
