You are bidding on a 7” single of The Rolling Stones - Tell Me (You're Coming Back)

The B side is a cover of the Willie Dixon song "I Just Wanna Make Love To You"

Wiki says this about the song: "Tell Me" is a song by English rock band The Rolling Stones, featured on their 1964 self-titled album (US title: England's Newest Hit Makers). It was later released as single A-side in the US only, becoming the first Jagger/Richards song that the band released as a single A-side, and their first record to enter the US Top 40. The single reached #24 in the US and #1 in Sweden. It was not released as a single in the UK.

This copy is on the purple and white London Label and is in the rare (as far as I know) original picture sleeve. (There appears to be another pressing on a different London Label - From what I can work out from other listings, this is the original.)There is a great bit printed in a black box on one side of the cover which reads START A "ROLLING STONES" FAN CLUB. This is from my own personal collection. It’s time to make some space so sadly I am selling my vinyl collection. Mainly albums, but a few collectible singles as well. Please check out my other items for sale and there are many more to follow, so keep checking back.

Please read the condition of the item carefully below before bidding. Unlike many people selling vinyl on eBay I play every track (singles and albums) before listing it. It’s very time consuming, but means I can give an accurate description and an honest opinion of condition. I do not accept returns, in saying that if you receive an album/single and you feel I have made a genuine mistake and missed a blatant defect, do please contact me.

I am not a record dealer and I am not an expert at grading records. I will give as much information as possible to assist in identifying particular albums.

DESCRIPTION

For the vinyl collectors looking in, the following information is available:

Label: London (Purple & White)

Year: 1964

Catalogue No: LON 9682

Additional Matrix number information: DR-32989-1A and DR 32991-1B. There appears to be a number 10 scratched in, further round the dead wax area on side 1, and similarly, a number 3 on side 2.

Mono/Stereo: I'm assuming it's Mono as it doesn't say. I think if it was stereo it would say.

CONDITION

Record: (Visually) Both labels clean. The A side label (Tell Me) has a small rough area (probably about 6 or 7 mm) towards the edge of the label (near the LON 9682 catalogue number). As can be seen, the centre spindle section is missing and it may well have been used on a jukebox. It has been replaced with a red plastic centre. I would have bought this reccord - second hand - probably at a record fair in the early 1980's. Vinyl has some light finger marking. Under good light, I can see some light indentations which follow the curves of the grooves but don't appear to affect the playing. I can see a couple of light surface scuffs as well, but again, they don't seem to affect the playing.  (Playing) I have played, both tracks through. They have obviously received a fair bit of play in their time, but the audio quality is still very good. There are no jumps, skips or sticking. There is possibly a little bit of low level surface noise, but I wasn't really aware of it when the tracks were playing. I didn't hear any loud clicks or pops at all. Possibly some very faint clicking, but I was having to listen hard to hear any at all. Certainly nothing obtrusive. This is only my opinion, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good the tracks sounded. 

Cover: As stated this is the rare picture sleeve. Please read carefully as it is damaged. Front and back are essentially clean. There is some discolouration and some ring wear. A couple of minor non-obtrusive marks. There is some creasing mainly towards the edges. The biggest problem is one edge has split from the opening at the top to about three quarters of the way down (Approx 13 cm) and it has left some minor tears to the edge and uneven edges. It may be possible to do a careful repair job on it, but I wouldn't guarantee it. Personally, I think I'd leave it in the condition it is in, and accept it for what it is.   

Compared with how others grade vinyl on eBay I would say this is VGC in respect of the vinyl and obviously less so for the cover because of the split.

If  my  starting bid is over £20.00 (Which in this case it is) I  will include a postage price that will cover  for  "Signed   For" postage (this  insures for up  to £50) and if the starting bid  or final  bid is over £50 I will  send via Special Delivery which I believe  insures for up to £500.00. 

The cost of any packaging is included in the postage price.
