The Stones’ first LP.

Unfortunately this was owned by someone else before I acquired it and the cover is not in the best of shapes (see photos) Front shows a bit of wrinkling and some ring wear as well as general wear. Bottom is broken through by record. Spine has some wear but not too bad and lettering still legible. The back is poorer than the front and in addition to general discolouration, contains a number of flaws. There has been a botched attempt to repair wear with Sellotape down the left hand side where the record goes in. There is some surface damage in two places where a label had been removed at some time. The original owner has also written his name on the back, though this appears to be in pencil so could possibly be erased. There is also a number “21” on the top flipover, which appears to have been made using Letraset (remember that?) so could possibly be removed. Overall, I could not say this sleeve is in good condition.
There is an inner sleeve, but I don’t think it’s the original one as it mentions “EMITEX” cleaning cloth. It's also not in great condition.
The record label is the red Decca one with the ear. There is a bit of writing on it.
The good news is that the record is in much better shape than the sleeve. There is some surface marking, but it plays perfectly all the way through with no skips or jumps. There is a bit of surface noise and the odd tick and pop here and there, but nothing intrusive and, although mono, this LP still has a good fat, beefy sound. It could possibly be further improved with cleaning.
