THE ROLLING STONES - 'THROUGH THE PAST DARKLY'
This superb sounding, barely played UK pressing of their second official compilation album dates from 1970
It is on the 1st/earliest variation of the boxed blue & silver Decca label: SKL 5019
Matrix numbers: XZAL-9067.P-1W & XZAL-9068.P-2W
Stamper codes: 91/IC & 1/IC
Disc weight: 156g
Housed in an outer unlaminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed octagonal gatefold cover, with original octagonal Decca inner-sleeve.

Both are clean & unworn with a small number of light spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
'Factory-fresh', deep-gloss playing surfaces which are unmarked in strong daylight with just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines & a sparkling rainbow shine directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
This fine sounding copy has received just a few careful plays on good equipment and there is no trace of any groove/playwear distortion on any track or channel. My single careful play-check detected a touch of light background on the introduction to '2,000 Light Years From Home' & on a few of the album's other quieter passages, but no clicks, pops or any other audible distractions throughout.
Cover: NEAR MINT
A spectacular example of this fragile and easily worn cover. The delicate front leaf is flat and uncreased and retains an immaculate high-gloss laminate free from any scratching, 'thumbnails' or indeed any other signs of wear. All 8 corners are unworn and unbumped and the delicate hing is unworn and fully intact.
The rear panel is just as fine as the front & the inside of the gatefold is 'as new'.
The spine text completely unworn.
