ROLLING STONES - 'THROUGH THE PAST DARKLY (Big Hits - Vol.2)'
This NEAR MINT copy of their 2nd Greatest Hits package is a UK 1st STEREO pressing dating from initial release in September 1969.
The disc bears the early 'unboxed' blue & silver Decca labels: SKL 5019
Matrix numbers: XZAL-9067.P-1W & XZAL-9068.P-2W
Stamper codes: 1/H & 1/G
Disc weight: 144g
Housed in an octagonal, outer laminated, inner-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed gatefold cover.
Complete with its original octagonal blue & white stereo inner-sleeve

An immaculate pair with just two small spindle trails around each completely unworn centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Pristine deep-gloss playing surfaces which are MINT and 'as new' in strong daylight with only a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines directly beneath my powerful and unforgiving halogen desk lamp. Both sides of this pristine, well-looked after copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Play: NEAR MINT
This copy came from the collection of an audiophile Austrian collector and has clearly been barely played. My own single careful play-check at volume found no trace whatsoever of any groove/playwear on any track. In fact, apart from a touch of light background on the bands between tracks and on the quiet passages of '200 Light Years From Home', there really is nothing to fault soundwise on this wonderful sounding copy.

Such a tough cover to find in anything approaching this condition, the beautiful example has been carefully and correctly stored in a non-smoking environment and as close to 'shop-new' condition as you could hope to find. The delicate front panel is flat and uncreased with sharp and unworn edges. The rear panel is its equal just a small area of laminate lift towards the upper part of the spine reminding us of its 41 years. Inside is immaculate and unworn and all seams are unstressed & unsplit. The delicate spine is fully intact with no splits or damage to either hinge, inside or out.
Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT
Clean & flat with just a few gentle wrinkles from storage but no heavy creasing or wear to any edge or seam.
