Hello and Welcome!  

Despite being eBay Vintage Vinyl Sellers since 1999, we have recently elected to auction off the majority of our personal album collection under this new screen-name. We pride ourselves as collectors, sellers and most importantly, true purists when it comes to this hobby which has turned into a huge on-line business for many folks.   Unlike many eBay sellers of LPs these days, we still feel compelled to write up complete as well as accurate descriptions of our vinyl in order that no surprises will occur, other than happy ones.  This is why we take painstaking efforts to describe every detail of our play-graded LPs, which never seem to disappoint our buyers.   

We are offering an Archival, Never Played 1969 UK Stereo Pressing of The Rolling Stones: Through The Past, Darkly [Big Hits Vol.2] Album on Decca Records SKL 5019.  This copy was acquired in a UK Vintage Record Shop SEALED and with a price tag of 2.25 British Pounds.  It remained in the Record Store Plastic Wrapping until we decided to open it up in order to determine which Decca label variation we had kept in protective storage for over 9 years!

This entire album is exquisite and pristine in every sense of its condition and presentation.  We believe that the Boxed Decca Label Variation coupled with the early 'JT Tax Code and early 1W/2W matrices, makes this album a transitional and extremely rare 1969-70 pressing of this Rolling Stones album.

Our Goldmine Grading of this or any other album entails a Visual Assessment of the Vinyl, Labels, Jacket, Inner Sleeve and Inserts (If Applicable) as well as an Aural Evaluation.  All pre-owned LPs that we put up for auction are first professionally cleaned with our VPI 16.5 Record Cleaning Machine prior to being Play-Graded on a Denon DP 54-F Turntable equipped with a SHURE M97xE Cartridge/Stylus.  Our Pre-Amp is a Denon PMA 750.  Our Polk Audio Speakers allow one the opportunity to hear any sonic distortion, variation in sound quality such as drops in sound levels, detection of the slightest background noise e.g. crackle, clicking, and, of course, jumps. All of our albums are stored upright and kept in an air conditioned, smoke free environment and are, or have been protected by polyurethane jacket protectors since our acquisition of them.  

VISUAL GRADES

VINYL:  This is a heavy, inflexible vinyl which is free of any signs of playing.  It is quite rare that we state that an LP is in "Like New" condition, but this gem is. Full Gloss, Stunning, Archival, and Pristine are the only words we can use to describe this gorgeous wax.   Goldmine Grade: M-  

LABELS:  Neither side of the Deep Blue Decca Labels shows any sign of being played.  There are absolutely NO indications of Spindle Wear or Spidering.  Goldmine Grade: M- 

JACKET:  This Octagonal Jacket was made by Garrod and Lofthouse and is a Gate-Fold.  We have photographed the jacket in order for younger Rolling Stones fans across the world to see how this album cover actually looked 41 years ago!  We did not detect ANY sign of ring-wear on EITHER side of the cover.  All of the jacket's colors, pictures, and print are sharp, vibrant, and well-defined.  This jacket was not only protected against improper use, but organic aging as well.  We have found that there is usually some sign of laminate lifting on these types of jackets, but the front cover, the spine, and both rims, are in "as new" condition.  To be ultra-critical, and that's how we have to be, there are two minor creases on the front-side of the jacket--One is just above the "T" in "Stones" and one tiny crease is on the lower right-side corner, next to Bill Wyman's shoulder.  There is an extremely tiny 2 inch spot of paper rubbing (Photo 8) on the inner gate-fold, which was where the vinyl was stored for decades.      Goldmine Grade: NM-  

INNER SLEEVE:  The Original British Blue-Lined "STEREO" 8-Sided Inner Sleeve is free of any age-related discoloration, has maintained its sharp well-defined print, presents without creases or folds and, most importantly, is correct for an original Rolling Stones 1969 pressing.  There is a tiny tear (See Photo 7) on the lower right side corner.  These UK Paper Sleeves are extraordinarily thin and the octagonal sleeve was quite prone to damage.  Fortunately, this specimen is nearly perfect, sans for this one storage-related issue.  Otherwise, our sleeve is, essentially, a "New" 40+ year old Inner!  Goldmine Grade: NM- 

PLAY-GRADE 

This LP is unplayed and is now stored in a 3 ml. Polyethylene Album Protector.
