Description
This is a VG+ condition, very rare, white label test pressing Rolling Stones "Under Cover" 45. It was issued by Specialty Records for Rolling Stones Records U.S. in 1983. Test pressings were made in advance of regular pressings for quality control purposes. They were very selectively distributed to record label V.I.P.s and the artist and their management for approval. Very few were produced and most copies were destroyed. They were never made available to the general public. This single has "Under Cover" (Edit) on the a-side and "Under Cover" (LP Version) on the b-side. The white labels have information hand written in black and red ink. There is a date stamp on the a side "Oct 19 1983". The labels are Specialty Records white test pressings. The record comes in a standard white paper sleeve. It has had one owner, a former record company executive who has had it filed away since 1983. This is a very rare Rolling Stones item that rarely comes up for auction.
Of Special Note:
The a-side, "Under Cover" (Edit) has "This Version Never To Be Used" written in red ink.
The b-side, "Under Cover" (LP Version) has " OK For Commercial 7" Single B/W All The Way Down", "OK For Long Version DJ" written in red ink.
