Description
One of the pick of a new batch of highly sought after jazz and blues albums I will be listing, this 1954 'long playing microgroove' release on the sought after Esquire label is the very rarely seen Volume 4 in The Ronnie Scott Jazz Club series and features, among others, the stellar talents of Jimmy Deuchar and Victor Feldman.
It's not listed on Discogs, and only one copy seems to have been sold online in the last 16 years, according to Popsike.
The fragile sleeve has been bolstered with tape on the back, and there is a six-inch split to the bottom edge. The rest of the sleeve is in pretty good shape.
The vinyl has marks and surface lines and these sometimes affect the audio with some surface noise and a few pops. I think I detected a couple of brief skips but these may be ironed out with a careful clean. The labels are excellent. Overall it's in pretty decent shape for a 65-year-old record.
Highly collectable for jazz fans. Did I mention it's a rare one? Oh yes, I did.
Also, don't be confused, rather than having the opening edge to the right on the front cover, it's to the left. One for lefties, then.
Postage: UK £4.50 (2nd Class Signed For), Europe £12.50 (tracked), Rest of World £19.50
