Here’s an LP that has indeed become scarce these days. It’s Ronny and the Daytonas LP “G.T.O.” released in 1964. This is Mala Records 4001, and it is a MONO Pressing. This LP was only released in Mono. I suppose you can call Ronny and the Daytonas an east-coast version of the Beach Boys. Their hit single “G.T.O.” caught the attention of teenagers from coast to coast and created a loyal following for a few years. The band released only 2 LPs on Mala Records, “G.T.O.” and “Sandy”, and these are the most desirable to collectors. And in this auction is a nice copy of “G.T.O.”. The COVER is graded VERY STRONG VG Condition. There is light cover wear, some corner wear, and a 2-inch seam split on the bottom seam near the center. The black areas of the front cover slick were notorious for showing wear very easily even from minimal use. But this cover shows light wear on the black areas. The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION (not far from near mint) with some light hairlines. There are a few manufacturing imperfections in the vinyl that do not affect play at all. I have played this LP to be sure. It’s an LP that will make a wonderful addition to any vinyl collection. FYI: I use Goldmine Grading Standards (G for Good, VG for Very Good, VG+ for Very Good Plus, NM for Near Mint, M for Mint) to VISUALLY grade the LPs and 45s I auction, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding.
