Description
I'm emmigrating and have decided to sell of my old vinyl. This is my Rory collection; not complete, but most of the earlier records. They have all been played and are in varying degrees of condition. I was and still am such a big fan of the man, that there are no 'mint gems' here; just a collection of his music for someone to discover. I have just finished playing through these for the last time and here is the detail on condition.
1. photo Finish sleeve good/inner sleeve with pics; good/ Vinyl good with a few marks but plays well; no major scratches and no jumping.
2 Rory Live in Europe: sleeve good/ Gatefold type with pics/ vinyl ok but plays well with no major scratches and no jumping.
3.Tattoo: Sleeve tatty with split at seam/ vinyl v.good, but track 'who's that coming' number 2 side 2, has scratch which plays over; no jumping.
4. Calling Card: sleeve good/ vinyl v good and plays well.
5. Top Priority: Sleeve good with good inner sleeve and pics/ vinyl v good and plays well
6. Stage struck: sleeve good with good inner sleeve and pics/ vinyl good but 'Follow me' jumps once into the second solo( visible scratch) What an album though!!
7. Duece: Sleeve excellent and vinyl excellent- not one of my favourites, so largely unplayed. Plays perfect.
8 Blueprint: Sleeve Ex+ and vinyl nr mint; never liked this one too much, so it's only been played twice.
9: Rory gallagher First. Sleeve Ex and vinyl ex; another one I didn't care for- sounds better now interestingly.
10. Against the Grain: My all time favourite, so this one has had plenty of play.; Sleeve is good/vinyl looks ok but jumps once on 'Let me in', and a couple of times on 'Take what I want'. Having listened to this in the first time for a while,it still sounds awesome; well written songs peformed by the best line up, with Rod D'ath on drums(the most underated drummer ever IMHO) raw live produstion also makes this one his overall best I think.
In sum, I would say that I have accurately described the playing condition of this collection. I have listened to every track after pulling my old Dansette valve record player from the attic. It has been a pleasure to have this as a soundtrack whilst listing the accumulated 'stuff' of the last 20 years of my life on Ebay. Now I'm off to start a new life across the pond. Hope the winner can get as much out of this lot than I have. I will post this anywhere but if you don't see your country listed please ask before bidding.
