Rory Gallagher Irish Tour '74 1979 Rare Australian Pressing on Chrysalis Label Gatefold 2 x 12" Vinyl LP # L45877
Produced and performed by Irish musician Rory Gallagher during "the troubles" in Ireland, this is a collectors must, compiled from 'live recordings' made at concerts on his Irish tour early in 1974. Venues were at Ulster Hall, Belfast; Carlton Cinema, Dublin and City Hall, Cork. Side Four 'After Hours' is two tracks taken from various jam sessions recorded during the tour on the Lane Mobile Unit.  Rory and his band were one of the only bands to play Belfast during this time. Several of the band members were from Belfast. They had cooperation from "The Organisation" to make sure there was no disruption during the concerts. The resulting album, Irish Tour ’74, remains the highlight of Gallagher’s career as it finally nailed his live performances on vinyl. There is some variance in the recording quality owing to Ronnie Lane's Mobile Studio being unable to get insurance in the more troubled area. One can put that to the side, given the raw primal urgency of Gallagher as he made the show up as he went along.

Vinyl record #2 is in near mint condition and played with no issues - both records were played through on both sides from start to finish at least twice (May as well enjoy the music while testing LOL); cardboard sleeve shows gentle shelf wear, with light ringwear. Photographs are of the actual listed album. I didn't remove Disc 2 is in such pristine condition I didn't remove it from its sleeve to photograph to prevent any damage or dust.  I provide scanned image of at least one side of the vinyl - in this case I have provided scans of sides 1 & 2 - you can then enlarge those images to see the true condition of the records for yourself. The condition of recycled vintage vinyl records is often subjective to individuals. I am not an experienced grader, I just love listening to vinyl - I will generally  list an condition range (I do grade slightly less than, to err on the side of caution) and provide plenty of quality photos because as they say "a picture paints a thousand words".  I will also note if there are any specific playback issues. Please check these photos carefully as they form part of this description and can describe vintage vinyl far better than any blurb I might write, allowing you to make your own determination.
