Roy Brown & Wyonne Harris - Battle of the Blues LP (1958, King 607) 1st Pr VG+
Artist: Roy Brown & Wynonie Harris
Album: Battle of the Blues
Description: 1958 Mono 1st press on King Records (before the crown logo). Black label with deep groove on both sides. Nice thick vinyl on this one. Each performer gets one side and runs through a set of sax driven rhythm & blues/early rock n' roll music. Hard to find and really cool album.
Sleeve Condition: VG, sleeve has great color, presents very well. No bends or tears, spine is very readable. Does have an old tape repair, presumably there's a split under there. Has some light ring wear/scuffing, but again not bad at all. Back is clean with just some light discoloration in a couple of spots. See the pics, I think this is a strong VG. The tape repair for me puts its just under the bar for VG+
Vinyl: VG++/VG+, visually this very clean. Side 1 is phenomenal, there are a couple of minor imperfections if you hold it up in bright light, but that's being super picky. No scratches, no scuffs, no warp at all. Side 2 has a couple of very tiny/faint hairlines, again nothing close to major wear. I have play tested the LP and it sounds great, music comes through clean and clear. No pops, skips, etc. Labels are both very clean with just the slightest spindle marks. No writing or fading. This has clearly been well-taken care of and there's very little sign that this has been played more than a couple of times. Just great condition overall. You'll be very pleased with this one. Don't miss grabbing it today!
