Hi folks,
Up for grabs is this mint condition 1958 Roy Brown 45rpm rockabilly single Hip Shakin' Baby / Be My Love Tonight (this is an ORIGINAL 1958 Imperial pressing, not a later reissue). The late Roy Brown needs no further introduction as one of the greatest blues artists of all time who had a pivotal impact on the birth of rock 'n roll. This single is pretty much the exception to his blues repertoire, a hard-hitting killer rockabilly track originally composed by Johnny & Dorsey Burnette with top-notch vocals from Brown and a red-hot backing band. I bought this record from Denys Williams, of Hound Dog's Bop Shop Records fame, and the record has subsequently had little use since then. The record is completely unmarked with a wonderfully clean label (only the small white identifying stickers detract from total label cleanliness) and lovely unmarked semi-matte surface finish, the record also plays faultlessly with no mistracking. Please refer to the photos for a closer view. Original Imperial pressings of this killer track very rarely come up for sale on the market so don't miss out on this one.
The record has been bubble-wrapped and securely enclosed within a sturdy expandable mailer to ensure no damage in transit. Delivery cost to anywhere in Australia is $6.95 by Australia Post Small Parcels Delivery. A $1 materials surcharge is applicable to cover the cost of packing materials, please don't bid if you are not agreeable to this. Any two records from any of my record sales can be delivered for the cost of the price of one as two records will be just under the 500g weight limit for Small Parcels delivery. International bidders are also welcome to bid.
