Description
This is an extremely rare album recorded live at the Crossroads Night Club in Bladensburg, MD in the 60’s. This might have been Roy’s first album. I grew up in the DC area and watched Roy play many nights at the Silver Dollar Night Club in Georgetown. His technique was his own and he was well known by most professional guitarists at the time. He was the pioneer of the famous Fender Telecaster sound. You can read more about him in Wikipedia.
This album in its original burlap cover is in near mint condition and a real find for any serious record collector and a great display of Roy’s talent. My favorite cuts are his covers of Neil Young’s “Down by the River” and Chuck Berry’s “Johnny Be Goode” where Roy’s guitar really takes off. The instrumental "Sweet Dreams" is another great display of his unique talent.
This album’s value is listed at $300 in at least 2 Record Collector’s books.
