From Harvest Records (SHVL 789), this is STORMCOCK by 

ROY HARPER. It is an original (first) British pressing recorded

at Abbey Road Studios and released in the UK and US simultaneously,

spring of 1971. The title refers to the old English name for the mistle 

thrush, a most vocal species which makes itself known in the early morning

hours and during stormy weather. Its singing overpowers other birds and even 

pales thunder and wind; the male likes to sing during and after the most

horrific storms (Turdus viscivorus), perhaps a metaphor for Harper himself.

Jacket is NEAR MINT MINUS showing a hint of shelf wear; the LP appears

MINT and play-grades same (matrix= A-4U/B-4U). Simply beautiful piece.
