Description

An original 1st PLUM pressing on LONDON. That's 1962 - making this bad-boy 60 years old. Crikey - they knew how to make vinyl back in the day. This copy is playing like it's 1962! 'Recording 1st published' is exhibiting on the labels and the tax code is MT. Matrix 1A/1A. Stampers - 1BB/1BK - the 1st mother. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono cover. We also have the original  Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) Well, given the vintage this vinyl is in super condition. A couple of lightish marks per side, one slight trail - guaranteed nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Well, these Plum copies are legendary for the sound - and this copy is no exception. If you need to hear ROY crooning right next to you - this is definitely the closest you'll ever get. Tremendous warmth and presence. I guess the copy has seen light use, but those early stampers are helping too. Absolutely love it. If those 1st three tracks [alone] don't bowl you over - nothing will! Plays clean throughout. Expect a few crackles in one isolated spot per side. A couple of slight ticks as 'Wear My Ring' closes out. A cracking copy. Remember this is 1962. This a stellar level of playback.
Cover (Vg+) More than respectable. A bit of light ageing on the front and a few thumbnail creases. The rear exhibits a bit of light ageing - but no where near as much as many copies exhibit. Very little edge wear. A slight nick out of the opening. The spine pretty much fully intact with text fully legible - just a couple of stress creases.
Inner (Vg+) Lightly aged. Bag present. No splits.
