This is a somewhat roughed-up copy of a rare and desirable recording. I will do my best to describe the condition as accurately as possible.
Outer slip case (yellow): Intact with some soiling, top is very slightly faded, cloth edge is beginning to break through in 2 spots on the top: back spine, and front and back of rear edge, about 1" and 2" spots). Still sturdy and no full separation along any edge.
Inner slip case (black spine, burgandy): Fully intact with no full separations. The black spine looks great w/ minor rubbing. There is some splitting of the burgandy interior of the slipcase at the rear, and just beginning along one side of the bottom edge. Slight rubbing and good color.
Booklet: The front and back covers are both severely torn, with full length tears and pieces missing. The spine is also loose and starting to come apart. The interior pages are however intact, and the pictures and paintings are lovely! There is a 1" closed tear at the top of the last 2 pages of the booklet.
LP dust jackets: original RCA jackets, tanning, but intact.
LP1: (side 1 & 4) 4s/1s, some scuffs, no deep scratches
LP2: (side 2 & 3) 1s/1s, some scuffs and small scratches, the most prominent scratch is about 3/4" across the end of track 1 and beginning of track 2 on Side 2, it sounds more on the beginning of track 2 (which is quieter), but sounds more like background crackles than it does a big rhythmic POP!
After this exhaustive description of physical flaws, I have to add that the music and sound on this record is incredible! I just threw on the second LP so I could describe the scratch above and the music is wondrous. This is truly a great opportunity for a music enthusiast to get to hear this without having to pay out for a fine/fine collector's copy (not that those are common).
