I bought this record (2) a number of years ago when it was reissued by Classic Records because it was recognized by all music lovers as a must have in any collection and I must admit after listening to it I was myself, (a Jazz nut) taken by the pure beauty of the music and the synergy achieved by Ansermet with the Royal Opera House Orchestra. the recording Engineer Kenneth Wilkinson captured the beauty and the romance like no other LP (Shaded dog or not) has and the performance although somewhat dull is still world class in other words, befitting of a royal performance.
