Description

Title: Rush - Hemispheres - Red Vinyl - Canadian Anthem Sub: Sleeve shows very minor signs of edge wear. Vinyl near mint condition - nice copy Condition: Excellent Starting Price: £25 Postage: Please see below. Please note that I do not post to the Russian Federation. Although I include the Russian Federation in the exclusion list, e-Bay does not. I can only assume there is a bug in the system! Record: A rare copy of “”Hemispheres” pressed on RED Vinyl; released on the Canadian Anthem label. This is in excellent condition, close to mint. I have played this on my Linn turntable. It sounds great! The album was released for a short period of time in Canada on red vinyl and as a limited edition picture disc. Both of which have become much sought after collector's items. I originally bought this from Selectadisc in Nottingham, when it was released; seems like a lifetime ago! Record placed in an anti static sleeve to protect the vinyl. Cover: Fabulous gatefold sleeve in excellent condition. There are no obvious flaws. The spine is strong. Some very minor wear to the corners of the opening edge. I am being quite picky! No tears, no writing, no dents or creases. Placed inside a strong, gatefold PVC cover from date of purchase; subsequently stored in a high quality record box. History: Released in 1978. The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales and mixed at Trident Studios in London. It was the last of two albums they would record in the United Kingdom before returning to their homes in Canada. Following themes going back to Rush's second album, Fly by Night, lyricist Neil Peart utilize fantasy and science fiction motifs. Similar to their 1976 release, 2112, Hemispheres contains a single, epic song broken into chapters as the first side of the album ("Cygnus X-1, Book II: Hemispheres") while the second half contains two more conventionally executed tracks, "Circumstances" and "The Trees." The album's final track, the ambitious nine-and-a-half-minute "La Villa Strangiato," was the band's first instrumental release. According to Peart the band spent more time recording "La Villa Strangiato" than they did recording the entire Fly by Night album. Postage: 1. UK. 750 grams First Class Royal Mail £4.50 2.
