Description

RARE 2002 Low-Numbered (Number 0008!) European 45 pressing of Ryan Adams ‘Nuclear’ backed with ‘Song for Keith’ (Catalogue Reference: Lost Highway 172 259-7).  While a European pressing I think it is fairly safe to state that this was pressed for the U.K. market.  This came with a clutch of similar age 45s which I would guess were sent out as promotional items (probably explaining why it is such a low number in the run).  I purchased this second hand but I would guess it is likely that it has never been played (although that is not to say it is perfect because that is a different matter entirely).  Certainly, there is still a little plastic in the spindle-hole which I believe would’ve been pushed through had this copy been near a spindle.

CONDITION: EXCELLENT+ (VINYL) / EXCELLENT+ (SLEEVE)

As noted above I believe that this copy is likely unplayed however, it is stored lose inside a relatively thick card sleeve and therefore limited hairline markings characteristic of it moving around inside this sleeve are visible under an intense light.  This is nothing to concern yourself with as ultimately this has the visual appearance of a brand new piece of vinyl (i.e. I rarely find that brand new 45s are in mint condition due to the manner in which they are stored).  I should also say that this isn’t the flattest of pressings.  I note a very, very slight edge warp which most people wouldn’t even see and which will not impact play (again, this is fairly common in modern 45s which are rarely perfectly flat).  I simply don’t believe you would locate a much better copy of this record.  The sleeve is crisp and has clearly not been handled much.  Quite frankly you wouldn’t think this was nearly 15 years old.  The corners are sharp and aside from a slight bend to the top right-hand corner (which stops short of a crease I might add) it looks like it was produced yesterday.  There is no loss of print, no grubby fingerprints, no creases etc.

FINAL COMMENT

You’re unlikely to find a better example of this rare Ryan Adams 45 and the low number is just an added bonus.  A stunning copy!  Please check my other auctions for a large selection of Folk, Pop, R n B, Rock and Soul collectables in similarly immaculate condition!  Save me as a favourite seller as there is plenty more where this came from!  Overseas buyers welcome!

ABOUT ME

I have been a collector for nearly 20 years now and regard myself as a conservative and realistic grader with all my items having been graded under an intense light.  I know from experience that there is nothing worse than buying an item which is described with superlatives only for it to arrive and look like it has been scrapped along the floor(!).  As a rule I don’t submit anything to auction which I wouldn’t be happy receiving myself.  Please take a look through my feedback as I’d like to think it speaks for itself.
