This handsome and rare LP from Westminster (WL 50-49, US pressing, green/gold label, mono – no stereo edition exists) features the remarkable violinist Peter Rybar in brilliant renditions of violin concertos by two of the finest composer-violinists of the 18th Century.
In both works Rybar receives superlative accompaniment from the Winterthur Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Clemens Dahinden. These recordings were set down in 1949, at the very beginning of the LP era.

Giovanni Battista Viotti: Violin Concerto No. 22 in A minor G.97
Pietro Nardini: Violin Concerto in E minor
This is exalted playing by any measure and all those who treasure the art of the violin will find much to admire here, Rybar combining quicksilver virtuosity and shining elegance in equal measure. Westminster’s sound engineering is absolutely first rate.
There are informative liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by Peter Hugh Reed. The striking cover design was executed by Hurdman.
CONDITION – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD. There is edgewear, more so at corners, as well discoloration, scuffing, and a small sticker to the rear panel. However, there are no bends, seamsplits, owners' markings, or other defects, and the jacket remains solid, bright, and highly attractive – overall, a very good collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. Though there is occasional light surface noise, in general the playback remains quite fine. However, those wanting a flawless or near-MINT copy are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as an excellent collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
