ONE OF the most obscure psych records from the early seventies issued on the mysterious Florida based Illusion label - home of Fanz and Hopney. Illusion was a tax write-off label formed by wealthy Miami investors to deliberately make a loss. All product was 'created' by guitarist Mike Pinerra, a former member of Blues Image. He would knock out jams and re-write the same song several times over with different lyrics and slightly different hooks. The records were pressed and then remaindered or destroyed almost immediately.
The Fanz album and several of the Hopney Records have become big ticket collectors items just like this solitary album by Sage which is actually really good. Imagine the Allman Brothers jamming with the Steve Miller Band - nice driving electric based rock with just the right amount of raunch to elevate it above the hundreds of also rans. This is good rural psych rock with tasty guitar work.
Beautiful copy and so rare in this condition. Almost never seen these days - like I said most copies were destroyed straight after pressing, only micro numbers survived.

Vinyl: Beautiful clean condition. No spindle marks and virtually no signs of use. Displays a few pressing streaks/blemishes common to all US pressings from this period. Grades as a very strong MINT-!
Cover: Only minor signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, light ring wear on rear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff, square and totally uncrushed. Impossible to find like this after 35 years. Grades as a very strong Ex+
