Orginal German pressing from 1971 on VOGUE, LDVS 17243. Fully laminated foldout-cover, two record-set. The tracks have been recorded between 1964 and 1970, Sahib Shihab performs with 5 different line-ups from piano-less quartet to the full „Clarke-Boland-Sextett“, Milt Jackson of the MJQ gives a rare but fine vocal performance. Half of the tracks are released exclusively and for the first time on this LP, the other half of the tracks are the complete rare 1965 CBS LP„Clarke-Boland-Sextet / Swing Im Bahnhof“. The Turk's Bolero recorded at Lindström Studios Cologne on August 13th, 1968. It is a slightly shorter version than the August 27th, 1968 recording in the same studio which appeared on the Johnny Griffin "Lady Heavy Bottom's Waltz" VOGUE album

Amazing mix of Modal-, HardBop-, Spiritual-, Latin- and AfroCuban-Jazz that still sounds fresh and modern until today, one of the best Euro-Jazz records of all time. I offer another Shihab LP in my current auctions, a rare Japanese limited deluxe issue of “Sahib Shihab/Sahib's Jazzparty” on DEBUT/FONTANA.

For safety reasons and due to the weight of already more than 500 Gram I will place the heavy records in two extra plain white covers for shipping.

Condition: I have listened carefully and completely to the records on my REGA PLANAR 9 w. EINSTEIN MC and also my LINN AXIS w. DENON MC.

The records look ex to ex- in daylight & in normal artificial light, they look ex-- to vg++ under a very strong halogen lamp. Basically there are no serious marks at all, just sleeve- & hairlines and a few tiny superficial marks; unfortunately there's one exception: the first track on side 1 has one short, very thin and tiny scratch, it is not really feelable and it was not to be seen before I cleaned the LP, this causes tics next to the bongo-intro on a length of ca. 50 seconds, they are not prominent and I did not find it really disturbing. The rest of this side and all other three sides play perfectly in mint- all of the time.

The laminated gatefold-cover is in outstanding shape, it shows just a hint of slightest shelfwear, all seams/spine are intact and without any rub; front, back & inner are absolutely fine with just a hint of slightest agewear/creasing; overall mint-. Please take a look at all 8 photos ! The photo of the inner of the gatefold-cover has light-reflections due to the lamination, this is no discolouration or defect.

Zustand: Ich habe mir die LPs sorgfältig und komplett auf meinen 2 Plattenspielern angehört (REGA PLANAR 9 mit EINSTEIN MC und LINN AXIS mit DENON MC).

Die LPs sehen bei Tageslicht & unter einer normalen Lampe ex bis ex- aus, unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe sehen sie ex-- bis vg++ aus. Grundsätzlich gibt keinerlei ernsthafte optische Mängel, nur sleeve- & hairlines und wenige kleinste optische Spuren; leider aber mit einer Ausnahme: das erste Stück der ersten Seite hat einen kleinen ganz dünnen Kratzer, nicht wirklich zu fühlen und er war vor der Reinigung auch nicht sichtbar, dieser verursacht Tics neben dem Bongo-Intro auf einer Länge von ca. 50 Sekunden, diese sind nicht im Vordergrund und ich fand sie nicht wirklich störend. Der Rest dieser Seite und alle übrigen 3 Seiten spielen durchgehend und perfekt in mint-.

Das laminierte Klapp-Cover ist außergewöhnlich gut erhalten, es hat nur allerleichteste Lagerspuren, alle Kanten sind intakt und ohne Abrieb, Vorder- & Rückseite und Inneres sind super erhalten mit nur einem Hauch von Altersspuren/Fältelungen; insgesamt in mint- . Bitte alle 8 Fotos anschauen ! Auf dem Foto des Klappcover-Inneren sieht man auf Grund der Laminierung Spiegelungen/Lichtreflexe; das sind keine Verfärbungen, Defekte o.ä.

Alle Platten wurden professionell gereinigt, entweder von mir (Hannl Mikro) oder von den Vorbesitzern (Okki Nokki, Loricraft o.Ä.). Anschließend wurden sie nur wenige Male abgespielt bzw. nur einmal von mir zum Bewerten angehört (komplett oder in Ausschnitten). Optische Bewertung erfolgt in Tageslicht, in normalen Kunstlicht & unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe. Platten kommen mit neuer hochwertiger Innenhülle & in einer Schutzhülle. Bitte beachten: auch prof. gereinigte Platten können einige Staubpartikel haben; “eingefangen” während optischer & akkustischer Bewertung, Fotografieren oder den wenigen Abspielungen der Vorbesitzer.

Grading & Cleaning:

• all records have been cleaned on a professional record cleaning machine, either by me (Hannl Mikro) or by the pre-owners (Okki Nokki, Loricraft or the like). After cleaning the records have been played just a few times (or only once by me for playgrading)

• I playgrade each record (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, high-end Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN/ EMT TU-3 SFL (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment)

• I also visually grade cleaned records in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, my highest grading for a used record is mint- . My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve

• pl. note: even pro cleaned records may have received some dust particles during visual-/play-grading, photographing or few pre-owner playbacks
