In the depths of the turbulent 1970s, amidst the corruption and inequities of Brisbane, Australia, emerged a formidable force - The Saints. Eternally Yours, their seminal second album, marked a departure from their debut's raw aggression, showcasing a kaleidoscope of influences that transcended the boundaries of punk. While their debut, I'm Stranded, embodied the quintessential punk ethos, Eternally Yours explored a more eclectic palette. The Saints ingeniously incorporated elements of horn sections and acoustic guitars into their signature fast-paced, abrasive sound. Their lyrics remained politically charged, capturing the social and political unrest of their time. Throughout the album, the guitars morph seamlessly from crisp and eerie to intensely distorted. The vocals exude an unwavering attitude, with the singer occasionally experimenting with backing harmonies. An album that still remains to be discovered by many decades later.
