Witch Burning 10:26 My Sweet Jane 4:35 Why 2:44 You Can't Run My Life 3:50 You're Just A Dream 3:42 Bare Tree 6:53 The Drifter 3:14   Coven's "Witchcraft Destroys Minds and Reaps Souls" might be the most well-known "satanic" psych-album, and it was also my favorite that kind of record, until I heard this LP. Well, there are not so many known occult psych bands from the 60's/70's, but let's not concentrate on that...

Salem Mass' first and also the only album, called "Witch Burning" includes lots of really cool, absolutely unique psychedelia. The songs here are just fabulous, offering a wide range of different kind of cuts. There are also a couple lengthy ones, "Bare Tree" and that infamous satanic title-track "Witch Burning" which both are a real boost to this record.

Most of all, this album is perfect in every way. It's the use of those wicked proggy synthesizer sounds which make their sound really stand out as one of the finest obscure groups of the early 70's.
