SALEM MASS WITCH BURNING PSYCH IDAHO AKARMA 180G LP DELUXE LIM 300 ex ONLY !!!
Keyboardist Jim Klahr, lead guitarist Mike Snead, drummer Steve Towery and bassist Matt Wilson first came together in 1971. Gawd only knows where the dreadful name came from, let alone the horrific cover art that graced their self-financed debut "Witch Burning" (blame Mary Libby and B.J.). Produce by the band, the album was reportedly recorded on a two track tape machine set up at a local bar-turned recording studio ('The Red Barn').

These four jovenes American in 1971 practiced a psicodelico progressive Hard with abundant single of guitars to the Hendrix and with much enfasis in the keyboards, specially with the Mini Moog (I number of series 023) Dala impression to be escuchandom to The Doors, LED Zeppelin, Yes or EL&P.
It emphasizes the second subject "My Sweet Jane" with powerful vowels and primerizo a Hard sound of high flights, also emphasizes "You Can't Run My Life"; "Yoúre Just To Dream" and Bare Tree 06: 53 with relaxed subjects but.
Salem Mass, the Caldwell, Idaho band that recorded their classic "Witch Burning" LP at their favorite bar, converted into a studio, in 1971. (Using serial number 023 Moog Synthesizer!!) Heavy Organ, Outstanding Vocals, Fuzz Guitar, Pounding Bass, and Drums that will shake your walls!!!! Turn up the volume
The album starts off with the title track "Witch Burning." The lead vocals are high pitched and irritating, yet the music is powerful and subsequently sweeps that negative factor right under the table. I am not sure who handles vocals on what track because it's not indicated on the album liner notes or cover. That is the only song that lacks vocally, the rest of the album has strong vocals to match the far-reaching and authoritative music. "My Sweet Jane" follows and it put any doubt that I was feeling to rest quickly. I found it to be the best track on the entire album. This music sounds fresh even today. I noticed that the sound quality on a few tracks needed to be cleaned up some, as its muddied and uncharacteristically unclear for an Akarma reissue. This doesn't deter from the overall experience however. I felt that each song had merit and above all the music itself is imposing.
