SALSA
(VARIOUS)
MEGARARE original Parlophone Records very first PROMOTIONAL STEREO press released only in Chile in 1979 by Parlophone Records, made by EMI Odeon Chilena S.A. Records (EMI Records Chile) and distributed by Sociedad Chilena De Ediciones Musicales Ltda. (SOCHEM), licensed from Discos Top Hits, Venezuela, with traditional green/black Parlophone Records logo, catalog number 24257, with hand etched matrix numbers 24257A in Side A and 24257A in Side B. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!
“SALSA” is a compilation album of 8 “salsa” hits we got released in Chile in 1979, when “salsa” music was mostly unknown and exotic in this country. And we got it like many cases of that period with a very thin non-laminated flipback cover made with 2 single pieces of cardboard, with front cover pasted in the flips of back cover. Front and back covers have the same “sexy” artwork, colored in front cover and orange tinted in back cover with album title “SALSA” and the Parlophone Records at top right corner. In back cover is also the tracklist written in Spanish, with full credits for for each song. In labels the album title is the same, “SALSA” and they add “Varios” (“Various” in English) to inform this is a compilation, with tracklist, singers and credits for songwriters of each song, with “VENTA PROHIBIDA – PROMOCIONAL” (Sale Forbidden – Promotional) written in both sides!!!.
The tracklist in this compilation is:
Side A:
1 Como Sube La Gasolina – Tommy Olivencia Y Su Orquesta (sing Paquito Guzmán and Gilberto Santarosa)
2 Bravo De Verdad – Oscar D’León Y Su Orquesta (sings Oscar D’León)
3 Mujer Impura – Dimensión Latina (sings Oscar D’León)
4 Guapo Soy Yo – Wladimir Y Su Constelación (sings Larry Machado)
SideB:
1 Mis Hijos – Oscar D’León Y Su Orquesta (sings Oscar D’León)
2 En Mi Humilde Barrio – La Banda (sings Joe Ruiz)
3 Paz – La Critica (sings Teo Hernández)
4 La Maldad – Willie Rosario
So, here you have the chance to own this rare compilation album of Salsa music with UNIQUE SEXY COVER and PROMOTIONAL PRESS!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans and collectors of Latin tropical dance rhythms!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition the front and back covers, clean and clear, no missing parts, no writings, no creases, only some wear in edges and corners, no seam splits, no blemishes, some age browning and light ring marks, with the top right corner cut to identify this record as promotional for radio station only. The record is in superb EX or EX+ condition, glossy and clean, with only minimal scuffs and hairlines, which don’t affect sound at all, no scratches. Labels on both sides are in NM or NM+ condition, clean and clear, no writings, no marks of any kind. The sound is in superb NM or NM+ condition both sides, loud, clean and clear, no background noise (background noise was normal in most of records pressed in Chile), only some very light occasional crackles here and there, really hard to hear, which of course don’t distract at all from the great sound this album keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall a MEGARARE record, only released in Chile, in still a great condition, with a sexy UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and PROMOTIONAL LABELS, a very good look, almost immaculate labels and amazing sound quality after 34 years!!! A record to listen, enjoy and dance!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
PAYMENT
PayPal (send me a message if you offer some other way to pay that we can accept)
Payment must be received within the first 7 seven days after the auction is ended.
If you pay via PayPal and PayPal holds the money (with status “Completed – Funds Not Yet Available” in my PayPal account), I will consider the items paid when funds are available in my PayPal account (this could happen after 21 days buyer paid in accord to PayPal policies). If you don’t want to take the risk to have to wait those 21 days please wait for my invoice and instructions.
SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)
We have an unique value worldwide:
GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)
GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")
GBP7 for one 7” record
All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
In the case PayPal informs me the funds are “PENDING” in my account, the record will be shipped immediately after PayPal releases the payment and funds are available. Please, remember that in my auctions the buyer pays for shipping and if the money isn’t available in my PayPal account I can’t ship the records. I know this could be an inconvenient, but I hope you can understand that PayPal places on hold the money, not me.
FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
In the case PayPal has placed on hold the payment, feedback will be left when buyer has received the record and expressed his/her satisfaction with a possitive feedback.
IMPORTANT TO READ
We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.
If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
The new policy of PayPal to place on hold the payments:
“Your transactions are placed on hold as we are unable to confirm that the items have been shipped. We encourage you to provide tracking numbers for the items you are shipping to protect you as a seller through PayPal’s Seller Protection Policy. This hold is implemented to all eBay sites. This is part of the security measures to help buyers and sellers have successful business transactions.”
“I would like to assure you that this hold placed on your payments is an additional measure taken by eBay and PayPal to protect you as a seller. Both your eBay and PayPal accounts are being reviewed regularly to see how we can further help you maintain successful transactions and good reputation for your seller account.”
THIS NEW POLICY IS AGAINST BUYERS AND SELLERS!!!
Buyers pay for shipping in my auctions, so it’s obvious that if money is placed on hold the seller (me) won’t have that money available to ship the items. What kind of help is that? Buyers deserve respect and I don’t see how to place on hold the payments will help to “maintain successful transactions”… My buyers and me don’t need that kind of help!!! The comments I get prove the quality of the records I sell and the satisfaction of my buyers with the service I give. I hope you can understand that I try to give all the satisfaction possible and records are sent when payments are available in my PayPal account but if PayPal decides to place on hold your payment and the money you pay for shipping, then it’s PayPal the responsible for the extra delay of 21 days, NOT ME.
