Speaking of dream job: call this a labor of love, if you will: marketing the music and the vibrant, joyful voice of my all-time favorite singer - and spreading the Sam Cooke gospel in the process !!! That's heaven to us, indeed. Sam Cooke was the greatest American singer of all time, no ifs, ands or buts. Respectfully, the fans of Enrico Caruso, Frankie Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat "King" Cole or Billy Eckstine can take their case elsewhere - our judgment is firm and final (and also shared by such an authority as Jerry Wexler, legendary Atlantic A&R man, who - to paraphrase his words - proclaimed that Sam Cooke was a "perfect" singer, who "had it all"). In an unlikely event that you are totally unfamiliar with Sam?s music, this is the disc from which you should start building your Sam Cooke collection. This 1964 MONO lp is the very last album Sam Cooke released in his lifetime. A few weeks later, he was dead. Don't miss the opportunity to acquire this phenomenal live album by the legendary performer, on a MONO LP, NO LESS!!!.

Why do we believe that this album contains the original, first pressing of the record? Well, our conclusion that this album contains the original, first pressing ? an assumption which we caution may be entirely wrong - was based on the following factors:

1.    The high quality and overall integrity of the manufacture points out to the earliest generation of the pressing.

2.    The back cover makes a reference to availability of this album in BOTH mono and stereo; this reference was deleted on all post-1968 pressings so as to leave availability in STEREO only .

3.    The thickness of the vinyl (this is almost certainly a pre-1966 pressing)

4.    The way the paper slick was folded along the edges and pasted onto the cardboard base, with overlapping corners and edges, points out to the 50?s to mid-60?s pressing

·       CONDITION:

·       RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)            THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID)

(b)            The record is believed to come in its original stock inner sleeve.

(c)             The record is apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)            Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
