I am parting with some of my treasured LPs. Here's a first US MONO pressing of SHAKE by the amazing SAM COOKE. Good luck ever seeing another STILL SEALED copy of this LP. The colors on front cover are vibrant and beautiful. The back cover is the original perfect shade of white. No discoloration. There is a cut out of the shrink in top right where a cover sticker must have been. Perfectly stored flat and gorgeous.
Sam Cooke can easily be considered one of the greatest soul singers ever. In the 7 year period from 1957-1964 he had 30 top 40 hits. This LP was released shortly after his death, and includes one of the greatest civil rights protest songs, A change is gonna come. It also includes his popular hit Shake, which was a standard in his live shows for years. This LP reached the #1 spot for R&B LPs shortly after it's release. This is an important LP for any music library, and I consider it a must have.
I love original pressings because I feel every LP is of it's time and place. The vinyl, and record pressings are all from that moment in time, and no re-pressing or re-mastering will ever make the sound better for me. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER LPS FOR SALE NOW ON EBAY.
