Very Rare CHERIE LABEL Sam Cooke 2 LP Set and 45:

"SOULIN’ SAM COOKE / RIGHT ON"

CHERIE RECORD LABEL # 1001

This is a US Pressing double LP that also includes a 45. The cover describes the 45 as A Never Before Heard 25 Minute Rap Session by SAM COOKE titled “What Is Soul”. One side of the 45 is titled THE INTERVIEW, and the other side is SAM IN THE STUDIO. The cover is a gatefold, and is still in its original shrink wrap. I can’t see entirely inside the gatefold, but it looks like inside there is a picture of Sam Cooke and notes by Disc Jockey Magnificent Montague. The back cover has more notes by Magnificent Montague and lengthy notes about Sam Cooke by the Cherie Record Company plus information about the material contained in this recording. The cover is in very nice condition, still in the shrink wrap. There are 2 small tears in the shrink wrap, and the bottom 2 corners of the cover have a small ding. The 45 is in great shape, with only a small light surface mark in the dead wax that does not touch the grooves. Both LPs are very clean and look like they have rarely been played. Under a strong lamp, there are a handful of spots that have a few very light scuffs. There is some light surface rubbing that was probably caused by sliding the vinyl into the paper sleeves. None of this is even close to being able to be felt, and I saw nothing that that even remotely looks like an actual scratch.

All LPs come packaged carefully in a sturdy corrugated box made specifically for mailing LPs plus a cardboard insert. The covers are placed in clear plastic record sleeves. The vinyl is removed from the cover (except for SEALED items) for shipping to prevent seam splitting during shipment.
