Packing of LP’s & 45’s

All of my records are shipped in sturdy cardboard LP or 45 rpm mailers.

Packing of 78’s

78’s are shipped in an oversized box with the actual record “sandwiched” between cardboard.  The 78 “sandwich” is then placed in the oversized box on top of peanut foam filler material below, above and around the record to cushion it as well as possible.

Taxes (Non-US Buyers)

SHOULD THERE BE ANY, BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL GOVERNMENTAL TAXES, CUSTOMS CHARGES, DUTY TAX, VAT, G.S.T. OR ANY OTHER CHARGE LEVIED BY YOUR GOVERNMENT

Grading (PLEASE READ SO THERE ARE NO SURPRISES)

All records are carefully graded. In an attempt to give customers an accurate impression of condition rather than adhere to somewhat arbitrary criteria, I give an "overall presentation" grade, supplemented when necessary with additional remarks (which is more often than not). Please refer to my grading system below for a more detailed explanation.

GRADING DESCRIPTIONS

RECORDS:

  • Sealed:  Store stock new
  • Mint:  Like new or near new with only one or two small insignificant defects
  • Near Mint:  Extremely nice. Would be Mint, except for a couple of light hairlines or scuffs
  • VG++:  Still a very nice record with all or nearly all of its original gloss but may have a few more light, surface marks, hairlines, needle tracks or the like
  • VG+:  A nice, but used record that may have a series of light scuffs or scratches. It probably plays with a some pops
  • VG:  A well-used record that still should sound OK when played, but may have moderate surface noise, pops, and even a possible skip.
  • VG-:  A very well-worn record that plays through, probably has skipping and snap, crackle, pop
  • Good:  Probably will play through but with much in the way of surface noise, pops, crackles, skips etc.
  • Fair:  You’re getting this record just to own.
  • Poor:  The sky’s the limit as far as condition in the negative sense

VISUAL GRADING: All records are visually graded only unless I state that they are play-graded.  When play-graded, I will leave addditional commentary on condition, sound, etc.

COVERS:

There are really too many possible defects regarding covers to be as specific in my definitions as I had been with my record grades. But please keep in mind these general grading guidelines:

    • I will give greater weight to the condition of the front cover than back cover when assigning an overall grade
    • Stickers – I will state if there are any
    • A saw mark is a narrow cut in the perimeter of the cover, could be anywhere and vary in length from 1/2” to 2” at the most.
    • Bottom Line – I generally over describe to give as accurate a description as possible

Insurance

Optional for purchases shipped within the U.S. but it is highly recommended for “high value” purchases. Rates are displayed in the listing.

Sorry, but I do not give refunds for items damaged or lost in the mail - U.S. buyers have the option of obtaining insurance for all purchases.  In the USA, all items are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.

My return policy: I don’t get many returns but customers are important to me so I like to offer a relatively hassle-free return policy. However, in order to return the record or other item, you must notify me of your intent shortly after your receipt of the record or other item and within a reasonable time after the auction’s close. Also, the item must be returned in its original condition , i.e. the way it was shipped when it left my hands.  I do not refund Shipping & Handling costs nor return postage, only the purchase price. While a very high percentage of my records arrive safe and sound, they occasionally are damaged in transit. If that happens, I won’t accept the return of the record or other item - that’s why you have the option of obtaining insurance.  I trust you understand as I cannot control the Post Office.

My Feedback Policy: I'll be glad to return positive feedback if you would be so kind to leave me same.

Any other questions…..PLEASE ASK
